Safe hydration and nutritional care are essential for maintaining health, comfort, recovery, and quality of life. Poor fluid intake, malnutrition, unsafe feeding, and unrecognized swallowing difficulties can lead to serious health decline, increased care needs, and avoidable harm.
The Fluids and Nutrition in Care course explains hydration and nutrition fundamentals, dehydration and malnutrition prevention, safe feeding practices, dysphagia management, person-centred mealtime support, risk management, and professional responsibilities for maintaining quality care.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to recognize nutritional and hydration risks, support safe feeding, respond appropriately to swallowing concerns, improve mealtime experiences, and contribute to safer care practices. Certification is provided upon successful completion of the course.
