Child and adolescent mental health affects learning, relationships, behaviour, family life, and long-term well-being. Young people may experience emotional distress, anxiety, depression, behavioural concerns, or safeguarding risks that require informed, respectful, and coordinated support.
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health course covers youth mental health foundations, Canada’s mental health system, common concerns, legal and ethical responsibilities, safeguarding, cultural influences, equity, family support, practical responses, and care coordination.
Learners will develop greater awareness of mental health concerns, appropriate support pathways, ethical responsibilities, and coordinated approaches that promote safer and more responsive care. Certification is provided upon successful completion of the course.
